My first philosopher

There are four new books out that deal with Descartes in different ways and The New Atlantis has the scoop on them all.

If you're wondering about the title...I had my first major run in with philosophy when I came home at sixteen announcing I was agnostic and my Dad handed me Meditations on First Philosophy and told me to write him a book report disputing that. I generally feel that this anecdote describes both the marvelous and the annoying things about my father in a very succinct package.

It is often the AMAZING things about others that Annoy us.... I would sum it up as "ENVY" - a very powerful "forming force" - kind of like "hot wind"!!
