Weird Sex

John Maynard Keynes kept sex diaries and used coded language to disguise what exactly he was doing. This is an interview with a guy who is trying to decode them. I warn you that they aren't exactly circumspect about talking details.

Speaking of details, I love that someone is out there saying that perfumes mess up everything. While I'm not against a little scent applied judiciously, I think that smell is a huge part of attraction and it is nice to have someone actually publishing a book about it. Not saying I agree with everything she says in the interview, just saying I agree with the overarching idea.

Amsterdam is closing down its red-light district; what will the Western world do? Of course, maybe our generation will be fine because we have fewer partners and are less likely to commit adultery than the generations before us. I have been meaning to post a link to that study for weeks and it still annoys me that those two facts were reported as if Gen X didn't have as much sex, which I can't see that the study says. It seems that those two facts are good things from which it doesn't follow at all that we are prudish, but it was reported as if the study said we were prudish. This sort of thing always annoys me; why don't reporters ever like to actually report what studies say?

While I'm ranting, I should also link to this defense of being friends with exs from Jezebel. It is old as well, but I think there is always room to fight the idea that one is a weirdo if you still talk to people that you once dated.
