I didn't blog about Kenya when it happened, though I have a whole raft of links to stuff about it in my notepad, because it was the holidays and there wasn't much time and it all seemed too depressing and overwhelming, but I seem to be on a kick for that sort of news today so the latest news is that the violence may have been planned beforehand and that Obama has been involved in trying to calm the situation while the primary season has been going on. This political scientist puts his two cents in with a theory about gaining leadership without violence in countries whose cultural and political makeup are similar to Kenya's now.

If anyone reading this is in the mood for even more depressing news on a Monday, here is a link to an Iraq blog by the reporters of McClatchy that has always been good, but has vaunted into the news today because they have linked to an ad against terrorism that is now running in Iraq and shows a terrifying vision of kidnapping in the country.

Also, allegations of foul play are flying back and forth concerning the Nevada caucuses and everybody thinks there is going to be a recession.
