Downhill Music v.04 : Kids and Monsters and Rock

Happy Halloween Magnolia Sitters! I’ve got some spooky (sorta) Halloween music for you and the perfect cure for those Prussian blues.

Well, it’s not quite as scary as it sounds, I guess. The band is fronted by JJ and Charlie Brown who are 8 and 10 respectively. Their Dad – who is apparently quite the Misfits fan - plays guitar and operates the drum machine. They don’t write a lot of lyrics, but those they do write are filled with a menagerie of goofy monsters and, most importantly they play the songs loud. Check out their myspace page for another song.

Massive Cure by Smoosh
Here are some tweens who really rock. And unlike a band recently mentioned on this blog, they’re unencumbered by the whole hateful ideology thing, which is nice. Smoosh is made up of sisters Asya (12) and Chloe (10) - and they’re awesome. But don’t take my word for it - check them out, or if you would like to learn a bit more here is an interview they did with Steve Almond.
