List again.

If you checked the comments on the post below you will see that Math Wizard has also contributed a link to pictures of abandoned mental hospitals, which is unutterably cool, and then I found this link to a feature from Seed highlighting empty labs at night. I have spent a fair bit of time in empty labs for someone who is supposed to be in the humanities.

That isn't enough photo listing for you: a photographic repository of things that cost five dollars from around the world.

There are literature lists as well with the announcement of the 2008 Man Asian Literary Prize longlist and the somewhat less prestigious, but just as interesting, Gaurdian list of weird fiction. China MiƩville calls Jane Eyre the "greatest work of horror ever." Yeah, that is one of the novels that probably formed my ideas about romantic love when I was a youngun. I can only hope my tender young psyche was saved by Madeline L'Engle and Anne of Green Gables.

Meanwhile, McSweeney's chooses to highlight women in physics:
5. Quantum field theory is from overseas, but she doesn't really have an accent. You fall deeply in love, but she treats you horribly. You are pretty sure she's fooling around with half of your friends, but you don't care. You know it will end badly.
