this is large scale, but manure has always been used for energy in India...they dry it and use it to light stoves in homes across the country.
Actually, that used to happen in this country with both cows and buffalo; I think the commercialization of owning livestock and increasing urbanization were probably the game changer on this issue.
Hoe often do you find it being sold or used in more urban settings in India?
