Once again, I proselytize for Pruned, one of my favorite blogs, but this post is even more exciting than usual. It is a run down of several new technologies that may greatly impact humanity's ability to deal with the waste we create. The first is Wired's reporting:

The sponge-like material, called ZIF-69, promises to hold 60 times its volume in carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas scientists say is primarily responsible for climate change.

There is also a link to an Israeli firm saying they have developed technology to transfer nuclear waste products into inert material that can be molded and used for building. If true, this is amazing and I cannot fathom how I missed this news.

Speaking of materials that are game-changers, I simply cannot wait for laundry that cleans itself.
