The new Clone Wars animated installments from the Star Wars universe are going to include a movie as well as the TV series and here is a leaked clip from Where the Wild Things Are.This is a visualization of dark matter in the universe, the magenta areas are places where the density of dark matter has been calculated based on the way in which the shapes of distant galaxies where warped by the gravitational matter that could not be seen. It's pretty awesome, as is the solar system like ours that astronomers have found.

My approved Sawyer nickname is Sugarpop. I'm not entirely sure how they got that.

Articles about clothes that generate enough energy to run small appliances (phone, mp3 player, etc.) have been popping up all over the place and I haven't posted, but it is an interesting development. The knee brace is the funniest, I think.

Liquid lens applications just got a huge boost from research showing that nanoparticles can help liquids hold their shape as nanofluids, as long as people don't boycott it because Americans think that nanotechnology is morally objectionable. Of course, the US still wins points in today's overall recounting because we are taking over the moon.
