I missed most of the Oscars last night; family time, exhaustion, and my new project to scan my family's old pictures intervened. I'll be posting a few of the old pictures up here tonight; I may even make it a regular feature until I am done with this massive project. However, the very small part of the show that I caught was the performance of the song from "Once" that one and the Best Actress award, both of which were just great moments. I wish I had been awake to see "Once" win. I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait and the music I have heard from it can best be described as indelibly charming. In that vein, I felt this comment on it by the Carpetbagger had to be repeated:

Hansard was effusive, in back, including walking into the press room and saying, “I just got a text from Bono. That is the biggest thing in the world that can happen to an Irishman.”

Since snark has to follow sweetness, I point you to my favorite fashion site, without which no celebrity event would be complete. (I love the Sartorialist, but he never makes me laugh so hard liquid shoots out of my nose.) Oh, and I adored the Marion Cotillard dress that everyone has been debating.
