So a blogger has issued the Africa Reading Challenge. The main idea is that bloggers are expected to choose at least six books either from or about Africa and commit to reading them and blogging reactions throughout 2008. I am a little busy now, so I haven't come up with a list, but I am in the middle of Nina Gordon's House Gun and I would love it if any of you have recommendations for me or would like to be involved. I will announce a list in a week or two.
Here is Columbia's list of Africa's best books of the twentieth century.
Update: Yeah, I'm an idiot. I meant Nadine Gordimer; Nina Gordon is a singer. I didn't get much sleep last night, or at all lately.
