Not only did we win, we nearly doubled the 2004 turn-out for the Democratic primary in SC.

I am so happy and so tired.

Yesterday, I shook Barack Obama's hand and stood behind him on a stage at my university with the amphitheater filled to bursting. People were standing on the walls of the Carrillion Gardens and I will never hear "City of Blinding Lights" or "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" in the same way. I have never been so proud of my state (even if I was born in CA, we all know it is true) or my university as I was tonight.

I crashed a wedding shower today canvassing and twenty women immediately started telling me they had all been to vote for him and wished me God's blessing on my endeavors. ("Lord love you, sweetie. You go get 'em.")

Last night I even went to an English Department party and it turns out they are all still behind me, too. Good things are piling up in my life so fast I can't keep track of them and I feel like I am waking up from a very long sleep. It is so odd, but "City of Blinding Lights" is starting to feel like it fits my life as well as the things that I desperately hope and pray are going on around me.

I'm remembering how much I love the world, how much I love the people who surround me, how much I want to do and know and see.
