So here are some pictures of the malls near our hotel. The first thing you notice about Singapore is that shopping seems to be the major recreational activity. One of the main roads through town has, and I am not kidding about this, thirty-two malls on it. This is on something like a five-seven mile stretch of road. Apparently, not only is Singapore the main shopping destination for a large section of Asia, the people in Singapore shop for fun and then sell stuff in flea markets after they have used it for a few months, normally to people from Indonesia and Malaysia.

The first one is a kids art exhibit that was just set up in the underground passage ways that connect the mall that our hotel sits atop to the mall across the street that you get to underground. The second is a mall entrance and then we have a food court with the best name and wallpaper (thousands of books) ever.
